50mph Crash Barrier

At its heaviest, the water-filled barrier reaches an impressive weight of 600kg, enabling it to withstand winds of up to 78mph and impact from vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 50mph.

Prior to becoming available for purchase, the 50mph Crash Barrier has undergone extensive safety testing. It has successfully passed MIRA wind tests and received Crash Test Approval from TRL, establishing itself as one of the most reliable barriers on the market.

These water-filled barriers find applications beyond road safety, playing a crucial role in industries where health and safety are of utmost importance, including construction, demolition, events, and more.

Featuring a practical and user-friendly design, these barriers implement a well-crafted interlocking system that leverages steel pins for secure fastening, allowing for a quicker setup process.

For situations that require taller barriers to deter intruders, the 50mph Crash Barrier can be used in conjunction with multiple extensions. Customers can choose from a range of options, including mesh, mesh and hoarding, or solid clad hoarding extensions, effectively adding 1400mm to the original barrier height.

In cases where additional height increase is unsuitable, 400mm mesh fence extensions are also available to be placed on top of larger extensions.

In addition to the extensions, the water-filled barriers can be used in combination with the 50mph Crash Barrier vehicle gate and pedestrian gate, providing comprehensive access control solutions.

To facilitate the installation of fence panel extensions with fence posts, an optional RB22 Fence Extension Connection Set can be purchased. Each set includes 2x M10 Bolts and 4x Washers. For installation, we recommend using 2 Connection Sets per post, with each barrier requiring a post and an additional post at the end. For example, 10 Barriers would require 11 posts, hence 22 Connection Sets for installation.

The striking visibility of the 50mph Crash Barrier further enhances safety levels. By utilising alternating red and white barriers, they become easily noticeable for pedestrians and vehicles, even in hazardous weather conditions. The use of bright colours also aids visibility in adverse weather.

Transportation considerations have been taken into account during the design process. The 50mph Crash Barrier features forklift slots at the base, allowing effortless storage and transportation.

Once unloaded at the desired location, the empty barriers are lightweight enough to be moved by hand, with two people able to handle the 60kg barriers without significant effort. This saves time and energy that can be utilised elsewhere.

This mobility feature is particularly impressive, as it enables the 50mph Crash Barrier to be used for permanent and semi-permanent purposes without excessive time spent on emptying and relocation.

When used in conjunction with RB22 angle sections, the barriers can be positioned at angles of up to 90°, which proves highly beneficial for roadworks, as it facilitates following the road route without occupying additional path space.
