European Timber Bog Mats are the most common on the UK market, as they are slightly cheaper than their tropical counterparts, due to the timber being more accessible & affordable. However, tropical bog mats do have particular features that make them suitable in certain circumstances. For instance, Ekki bog mats are renowned for their strength and are perfect for use in wet and windy weather. Our Bog Mats are made with high electrical resistance and the most acid-resistant commercial timber available on the market.Â
Alongside its natural strength, Ekki timber bog mats have incredible durability and lifespan and can withstand great pressure. This means that over time, Ekki mats are seen as a worthwhile purchase, although they cost a little more upfront, as they have a better long-term return on investment. Native to tropical West Africa, Ekki Mats are being exported in large quantities because of their unique and unrivalled qualities. The timber is then processed in sawmills across northern Europe before being exported to the UK.
