Restraint Kernmantle Rope Lanyard
A Restraint Kernmantle Rope Lanyard is designed to prevent a person from reaching a fall hazard or edge. Unlike a fall arrest system, which is designed to stop a fall, a restraint system aims to prevent a fall from occurring in the first place by keeping workers away from the edges or hazardous areas. Forked lanyards also work in a similar way but are for passing intermediate anchor points. A work positioning lanyard could be used where the is no risk of falling, otherwise it must be used with a suitable fall arrest system.

Features
-
Restraint: Restraint systems are designed to limit a person's movement and prevent them from reaching a hazard or edge where a fall could occur. These systems are typically used when a fall is possible, but keeping the worker at a safe distance from the edge is preferable.
-
Kernmantle Rope: Kernmantle rope refers to a specific type of rope construction consisting of a core (kern) and an outer sheath (mantle). This construction provides strength, durability, and protection against abrasion. In the case of a restraint kernmantle rope lanyard, the rope is likely used to create a connection between the worker and an anchor point.
-
Lanyard: A lanyard is a flexible line or strap that connects a person to an anchor point. In a restraint system, the lanyard would limit the worker's range of motion, preventing them from getting too close to a potential fall hazard.
