FROM BRONZE TO SILVER:HOW HERMEQ IS IMPROVING
FLEET SAFETY WITH FORS ACCREDITATION
HERMEQ has proudly been assessed and met Silver level requirements of the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS)!
After previously achieving Bronze, we decided to go one step further and work towards Silver to continue improving our fleet standards. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to running safer, smarter, and more sustainable transport operations.
WHAT IS FORS?
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation programme designed to raise standards across the road transport industry.
It provides a clear framework for improving fleet performance in three key areas:
- Safety
- Environmental impact
- Operational efficiency
FORS uses clear benchmarks to help fleet operators understand where they’re performing well and where there’s room for improvement. The scheme is built around continuous improvement, with three progressive levels of accreditation.

WHAT DOES ACHIEVING FORS SILVER MEAN FOR HERMEQ?
Achieving FORS Silver means our fleet is not only safe and compliant but actively improving.
It shows that we’re going beyond the basics to reduce risk on the road, improve efficiency, and minimise environmental impact. It also reflects stronger management of our fleet and subcontractors.
For construction and infrastructure projects, FORS Silver accreditation is now often expected. It gives clients confidence that fleet operations meet the safety and compliance standards required during contract pre-qualification.
WHY IS IT IMPROTANT?
FORS Silver accreditation provides clear, independent reassurance that fleet standards are being taken seriously and continuously improved.
From a safety perspective, Silver helps reduce the risk of collisions and improves protection for vulnerable road users through better vehicle safety equipment, training, and monitoring. This is especially important in busy urban and construction environments.
From an environmental perspective, Silver supports lower emissions, improved fuel efficiency, and better management of noise and environmental impact. Tracking performance data allows us to make informed decisions and plan for a more sustainable fleet.
From an operational perspective, Silver shows efficient internal processes, improves subcontractor management, and supports compliance with key industry frameworks. It also helps meet the growing expectations of clients who prioritise safety, sustainability, and responsible operations.
CONCLUSION
Achieving FORS Silver accreditation is an important step forward for us and reflects our focus on delivering a better, more reliable service to our customers.
By continually improving safety, efficiency, and sustainability across our fleet, we’re able to support our clients with transport operations they can trust. As industry standards continue to evolve, FORS gives us a clear framework to keep raising the bar!
