Trench Sheets - Standard Lap

SKU
TR1495

Standard lap (overlapping) trench sheets are 330mm wide (effective width) and available in a range of lengths. Trench sheets are driven vertically into the ground and most commonly used during temporary excavation and building works. The trench sheets stop the trench walls from collapsing and keep the workforce safe during and after excavation works.

HERMEQ cold rolls a number of trench sheets & sheet piles, including the most popular standard lap trench sheets & L8 interlocking sheet piles, in our own factories. As part of the HERMEQ Group, HERMEQ Steel is able to supply steel to our own internal manufacturing divisions at reduced rates, making us the most cost effective supplier of overlapping trench sheets in the market. Internally we purchase wide coil, slit this & then roll the standard lap profile on our own mill, that punches the lifting hole as the sheet is formed.

This end to end supply chain control means we can offer standard lap trench sheets to the highest specification & with full material traceability. As well as making HERMEQ the most cost effective supplier of sheet piles, there is also a benefit to the environment & local economy as all of our standard lap trench sheets are manufactured in-house, rather than being imported from the otherside of the earth.

Our standard lap trench sheets are supplied in a wide range of lengths, ranging from 1.2m - 6.0m long, although other lengths not shown on our website are available upon request. Trench sheets are used to shore up trenches & ground works whilst excavation works take place in order to provide a safe working environment. The sheets are primarily designed to be handled and installed by excavators using the bucket to drive the sheets vertically into the ground.

Standard lap steel sheet piles are manufactured in-house across a number of stages. Firstly we receive the coil from a steel mill such as Tata Steel or Arcelor Mittal. We then slit the coil to the required input width - this is the width of the Standard Lap Trench Sheet before it has been formed into the overlapping standard profile. We then move this coil to our manufacturing facility. Here the coil goes onto our mill, the mill has several stands, which as the steel passes through form the profile of the standard lap pile. Once the sheet is formed we have a punch press, which ads the lifting hole into the trench sheet. Finally the sheet is cropped at the length you require, using a specially designed guillotine which takes on the form of the standard lap profile, so as to cut it in one go and leave no bur. The standard lap trench sheets are then packed, banded & distributed to our depots or directly to our customers depending on the lead time and size of the order required. HERMEQ can manufacture up to 60 tonnes of standard lap trench sheets a day and is a trusted supplier to the largest users of these sheets. If you would like to become a distributor of our sheet piles then please email distributors@hermeq.com.

The grade of steel used is S275, this higher yielding steel increases the strength-to-weight ratio, and this is then cold rolled from coil into trench sheets here in the UK. Handling holes are provided as standard at one end of the sheet to make moving the trench sheets much easier and safer.
