Silt Fence
Our specialist Silt Fencing is used during construction, farming and forestry activities for sediment (loose soil) pollution control to protect water quality in nearby streams, rivers, lakes and seas in stormwater runoff. It is considered standard Best Practice Management on a range of construction projects in this area.
Many projects in these areas result in disturbed or bare ground that is vulnerable to weather erosion from silt-laden run-off, site debris and other pollutants resulting in significant environmental diffuse pollution and potential fines.

Silt Netting has been designed to create a high quality, permeable, technical filter fabric for stormwater surface runoff pollution management.
The Environment Agency / SEPA Pollution Prevention Guidelines (PPG5) recommend Silt Fence installation as an entrenched vertical entrapment fence to intercept and detain storwater run-off to trap harmful sil through settlement and filtration before leaving your site.
Silt Fencing installation requires thorough installation, proper placement and adequate maintenance during your project.
Options Available:
Silt Fence Premium – this is the most common option used on most projects. The material has a fibrous yarn woven throughout helping filter smaller particles of silt, whilst maintaining a high permeability.
Silt Fence Highflow – this option is primarily used when the water flows on-site are very high. This material allows more water through than the premium silt fence but finer particles will pass through.
Silt Fence Basic – this is option is tailored for domestic use and small scale projects where the risk of silt pollution is low.
Features / Benefits:
- Burial depth and max silt height marker lines
- Top tying-off + tensioning ribbon
- Fibrous weft yarn providing excellent filtration (Premium option)
- Proven performance
