GRP High Strength Floor Grating
GRP High Strength Floor Grating is pultruded open mesh grating used for increased spans and higher load capacities ideal for walkways, platforms and mezzanine decks.
Our GRP High Strength Floor Grating has a glass-to-resin ratio of 65:35 to provide increased stiffness and is available in various depths and open mesh areas to support differing loading and ventilation requirements.
All panels are 6000mm (L) x 1000mm (W).

Isophthalic polyester grating panels are a high-strength, non-conductive, lightweight and corrosion-resistant solution containing innovative ultraviolet inhibitors to mitigate solar degradation when installed outside.
GRP High Strength Floor Grating Panels are estimated to last between 50 and 100 years depending on the conditions due to their extremely long-lasting and durable nature – this is due to their ability to withstand harsh working environments where they may see extensive levels of use.
GRP is a waterproof material used extensively in the marine industry sector. It is able to withstand environments in which it is regularly exposed to water whilst maintaining great levels of slip resistance in the process.
GRP is also resistant to UV light and will not deteriorate as a result of UV light exposure making it an ideal product to choose where this is an important factor.
Compliant to National and Internationally recognised standards to ensure enhanced slip resistance.
Benefits:
-
Material Composition: GRP grating is composed of glass fibres embedded in a resin matrix, typically polyester or vinyl ester resin. This combination provides high strength and durability.
-
Properties:
- Strength: GRP grating is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio. It offers comparable strength to steel but is significantly lighter.
- Corrosion Resistance: One of the primary advantages of GRP grating is its excellent resistance to corrosion, making it ideal for use in harsh environments such as marine or chemical processing applications.
- Fire Resistance: GRP grating can be manufactured to be fire retardant, meeting various fire safety standards.
- Non-Conductive: Unlike metal grating, GRP grating is non-conductive, making it suitable for applications where electrical insulation is necessary.
-
Applications:
- Industrial Flooring: Used extensively in industrial settings where corrosion resistance and durability are crucial, such as chemical plants, oil rigs, and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Marine and Offshore: GRP grating is commonly used in marine and offshore platforms due to its resistance to saltwater and harsh environmental conditions.
- Walkways and Platforms: Ideal for pedestrian walkways, platforms, and stair treads in areas where corrosion and slip resistance are concerns.
- Architectural: Can be used in architectural applications where a lightweight, durable, and aesthetically pleasing flooring material is required.
-
Advantages:
- Lightweight
- Corrosion-resistant
- Non-slip surface options available
- Low maintenance
- Easily fabricated and installed
- Long service life
Overall, GRP high-strength floor grating is a versatile and durable material suitable for a wide range of industrial, marine, and architectural applications where traditional metal grating may not be practical due to corrosion concerns or weight limitations.
