SKU MP3396
The counterbalance system offers a modular solution for confined space entry and rescue. Easy to assemble and highly adaptable, it requires no fixings or floor penetration and ensures user safety. This counterbalance davit system is designed for lifting and raising purposes for personnel and is best suited for work where connections to a modular system are not available such as confined spaces.
It consists of five individual lightweight components to enable easy transportation and installation. The system is operated by RGA4 or AB15RT fall arrest / RGR 7 man-riding winches which are connected to the free-standing base. The free-standing base has individual adjustable legs ensuring that the entire system is secure. The anchoring system includes a weight rack that uses counterbalance / ballast weights to provide support for a davit arm.
- For use with RGA4, AB15RT fall arrest and RGR7 man-riding winch combinations - Compatible with trusted lifting solutions for personnel protection.
- Independently adjustable legs - Ensures reliable setup even on uneven or sloped ground conditions.
- 5-piece modular system - Tool-free manual installation makes site setup quick and simple.
- Extendable reach 19.5” to 29” - Supports varied excavation or access depth requirements.
- Includes 24 x 15kg weights - Delivers 4:1 safety factor for secure anchorage.
HERMEQ’s counterbalance system provides a robust solution where traditional fixed base installations are impractical. With a modular design, this davit system is purpose-built for confined spaces and irregular environments, supporting personnel lifting, fall arrest, and emergency retrieval.
Designed for portability, it comprises five lightweight components that facilitate quick assembly and repositioning. The system utilises counterbalance weights and adjustable legs to adapt to uneven terrain, ensuring stability without the need for floor penetration. Compatible with fall arrest and man-riding winches, it enables safe vertical entry or rescue in utility works, construction excavations, and maintenance pits.
This counterbalance system is particularly valuable in sectors where flexibility and speed of deployment are critical. Excavation teams, maintenance engineers, and site safety coordinators benefit from its user-friendly configuration and compliance with EN795 CLASS B, EN360, and EN1496 standards. Unlike traditional davit mounts, it enables multi-entry access with minimal setup disruption, making it a superior choice for high-risk work environments.
HERMEQ stocks a wide range of equipment for Working at Height including Edge Protection Systems, Fall Arrest Systems, and Harnesses & Lanyards conforming to all required safety specifications and regulations.

- Delivered with 24 x 15kg weights, totalling 360kg, providing a 4:1 safety factor
- No permanent fixings or floor penetration required for safe deployment
- System reach extends from 19.5” to 29” to suit different depths
- Full kit includes base section, upper/lower davit arm sections, and counterweights
Each counterbalance system provides flexibility to meet changing worksite demands. The adjustable legs help level the unit on slopes or rough ground, while its modular assembly means no tools are needed during setup. A reliable solution for planned and emergency work where lifting from height is necessary, especially in remote areas with no permanent base plates.
Unlike wall- or ground-fixed units, this davit system can be repositioned as needed. That makes it especially suited to civil engineering works, drainage interventions and shaft entries across large job sites. Users benefit from a fast, reliable system that meets statutory compliance without compromising on operational performance. The included winch compatibility further improves usability.
Is this counterbalance system suitable for uneven ground?
Yes, the legs are independently adjustable, allowing secure installation on uneven or sloped surfaces.
Can I use this system where floor penetration isn't allowed?
Absolutely. It is designed to operate without permanent fixings, ideal for restricted-access or sensitive areas.
What lifting equipment is compatible?
The system works with RGA4, AB15RT fall arrest units, and RGR7 man-riding winches.
Is this davit system compliant with UK safety regulations?
Yes, it meets EN795 CLASS B, EN360, and EN1496 standards.
